New channel Balance - Project 1

A quick learner from Minnesota says:

I have a window missing one of its two Channel Balances.

The pictures are of the remaining channel balance with the descriptions and measurements.

I see some Markings: 23C. B.S.I. PN

From my pictures and from what I see online, it appears I need a 24" Series 390.

Is this correct?

Do I need to order two?

Is the matching Top Sash Guide #18-008 (5/8 inch)?

Thanks for your help

Hi,

I sent you another email regarding my "Project 1", this is Project 2 and I'm missing both channel balances. So don't have a lot to measure.

The window is the same manufacturer and same width as the window in Project 1, but this time the window has a 46" Height, shorter than Project 1 window.

The window that is supposed to hold the channel balances measures 28 5/8 inches in Height.

It is 25 inches from the bottom of this window to the bottom of the slot that hold the channel balance clip.

Can you help me figure out how to get the right channel balances? Series 390?

Thank you

I read more about the replacement parts and it shows that I need to figure out the weight requirement. Maybe that's what the number 23C means, the weight of the window that the channel balances can hold?
Is that correct? Then I would need the option 2340.

With this combination of attachments, you could have either an S380 or S385 channel balance. You need to measure as shown below. The Series 380 has a 1" bottom attachment, and the Series 385 has a 1-3/32" attachment. The stamps on your balances correlate to the spring strength option you need to choose for each balance to support the weight of your window. 23C should be 2330.

For your second window with the missing balances, you can measure the height of the visible glass in the bottom sash and add one inch. Thant will give you the length and you'll need to weigh the sash and follow the chart on the balance product page to choose the correct spring strength.

Thank you and let us know if you have any other questions or concerns.
