Newpro Casement Window Won't Shut and Lock

A home owner from Franklin, Mass says:

I have fixed a couple new Pro of cranks. I now have a couple of windows that do not shut and lock. It sounds like(metal?) something in the length of the window hitting the side of the length.

The windows are 24 1/2 x 57" est.longIf this helps I have ordered parts to repair the cranks as 30830, 40372,(20810 or 20816)

Thank You

John

I'm not sure what the problem might be. Those numbers don't tell me what you have either, I'm afraid. When you say the window won't shut and lock, does it operate normally until a certain point, where it stops? Or does it not function at all?

It could be that your operator or hinge tracks are clogged, or otherwise have some kind of debris obstructing their operation. In a worst case scenario, either the hinges or operators are completely broken and have to be replaced, but I don't know what you have. If you do need to replace your parts, we'll have to see photos of them.
