Night Latch

A quick learner says:
Hi... I hope you can help me. I have safety latches on my windows, that I would like to replace. I am looking for something that will stay in the retracted position, as it is difficult for my wife an I to operate, and we have no children in our home. I have attached a photo. I saw your part number 26-122 on your website, and it looks like it will do the job for me. I have two questions.

1) Will it stay in the "in" position so we don't have to press it when opening windows?

2) Do you have any idea if it will fit Harvey windows? I am reluctant to remove the existing ones to measure because if I don't find a replacement, I will have a hole in the window.

Thank you... Barry Elkin

Hi, Barry. I agree that the 26-122 looks close. It will stay in the "in" position, thankfully. All vent latches like this do. If yours doesn't then it's probably just worn down or defective.

As for whether it will work in a Harvey window, that's not something I can answer, unfortunately. These are generic parts used in many, many different brand windows. Comparing physical attributes is the only way to be sure.
