Thanks for reaching out to us. We believe you have a discontinued pivot shoe, replaced by the 15-015, which is 1-1/4" wide and 17/32" thick. We recommend you compare the specifications to confirm they match up with the old shoe.
To remove it, please refer to our media guide titled "How to Remove a Pivot Shoe."
Looking at the other windows I have, they have blue tipped spiral balances if that makes a difference. I believe the spiral balances work, but the windows that are difficult to open or stay open have sheared shoes.
The 15-015 was suggested to replace your old pivot shoe. Take a look at the specifications and see what you think.
I believe these are my two final questions. Some of my top panes appear to have the same hardware that need replaced. Is the procedure for removing or replacing the shoes and balances the same? I don't want to cut into a wrong area in the window track.
Lastly I do not have window stop covers as mentioned in the video to cover the holes I need to make. Do you guys sell those too?
Thank you so much for the help!
For the cutout on the top sash, you would make the cut at the bottom of the track. In your photo, you show a window stop at the bottom of the window track. Remove that stop and make the cut there. Unfortunately, we don't have your style window stop.
No problem! Thank you for your order. It means a lot to us. Please don't hesitate to reach out if you need anything!
