Non Tilting Double Hung Repair

This house was built in 1988 and the windows are original. There are no mfg markings. The window do not stay open as the cords have come off. I don't want to tear them apart until I am sure I can get repair parts. I did not see anything like these windows on your sight. Can I retrofit any parts you sell ?

Hello,

The fitting at the end of the pulley cord reminds me of the 15-159 Malta pivot shoe at first glance. Take a look and compare the specifications below to an undamaged version. Thank you!

Would anyone be able to tell me how you remove the malta windows off the track to get access to replace these. Its really hard to find any information on them. Thanks

These balance parts are used in tilt windows, meaning that you would disengage the tilt latches on the top corners of the sash to tilt the top toward you and carefully disengage the bottom pivot bars by rotating the sash. Thanks for the link. Mine don't seem to have the tilt release. What I think I have is a windows that has a center pivot point. I can't confirm this since I can't seem to find any information on it to figure out how to tilt them out. The windows has the model number Malta-5A 8.

We can't be sure without being there to troubleshoot the problem but I agree that you may have a type of tilt window that functions without latches. If so, you may need to pull the top of the sash toward you to disengage the bottom pivots. This would be similar to the way that other tilt windows function but without the need for tilt latches.
