Non tilt balance removal/balance install help, no bottom clips visible

Question

I have corresponded with Jasmine and we both think I need to order an S500-29 5/8th. Mine has a white color on the balance collar. I can't figure out how to attach or remove the balance from the sash as there are no screws on the bottom holding the balance connector clip. Thus I can not remove the window to weigh it. Jasmine says I can get expert help here. This is a non tilt, probably from around 1985. I also can't figure out hold to install the balance after loading it with the balance tool.

Thanks for reaching out to us! The tip of your spiral rod doesn't screw to the window, instead it hooks into a bracket that is, itself, screwed to the window. You just have to unclip it by pulling down on it. Using a tool like our 75-005 will make this exceptionally easy. You just hook this tool into the hole you see at the end of the spiral rod and firmly pull down. That will unclip the spiral from the sash bracket.

I won't lie to you, it can be an awkward angle. You also definitely want to have a friend hold the window up while you do this, otherwise the sash will fall on your face since it won't have anything holding it up anymore. But all you have to do is just pull the rod down, that's all there is to it.
