Non-tilt window balance 1960

Hello,

I have a bunch of window balances to replace in a condo with 40 windows. They are 9/16 wide, 20" long (just the metal channel), bottom shoe is 1 1/8" deep, and the window total weight is 24lb. None of the top or bottom fittings have wings. Based on this, I believe this is a 390-20 (1960). I want to verify these are the right balances to order.

Cheers!
Eric

Hello, Eric! You did all the work for me. I agree with your assessment top to bottom; as long as your shoe is 1-1/8" deep and as long as the sash is 24 pounds, then the product you picked out should work like a charm.

One thing to note, though this shouldn't change anything: your old stamp of "19DS 30" tells me that the original springs were rated to hold 30 pounds. That said if your sashes are 24 pounds then this stamp would be way too heavy. You should have noticed that these windows are harder to close then they ought to have been.

If I were you, I would trust the weight of the sash over the stamp. Installers can use the wrong parts, it happens all the time, but hard data never lies.
