I’m looking for assistance in determining the correct Series 380 channel balances to order.
Here are the details from the existing balances:
- Channel width: 1/2"
- Stamps found:
- 14-5- 12lbs
- 28-4- 24lbs
- 1090 19- 16lbs
- These are from multiple windows within the same property.
Could you please help confirm:
1. The correct Series 380 equivalents for each of these balances

The Series 380 will not replace this, unfortunately. You need custom balances, assuming that they're all identical aside from their size and stamps. These are what's known as "extended travel" channel balances, named for their unique block and tackle configuration.
Before we go any further, I need a few more details:
- The exact length of the metal channel for each stamp
- The quantity of each stamp you wanted to buy
- A confirmation of the exact weight of the 1090 stamp.
Once we have that information, we can get the ball rolling on a custom order.

Also, just to clarify—when you mentioned confirming the weight for the 1090 stamp, are you referring to the weight of the window sash, or the weight rating of the balance itself?

Hello! I'm sorry for the delay. I just came in this morning with a quote on my desk. I'll email you a price quote and order link now for all 3 balance stamps.
Just a couple notes:
- For the 14-5 stamp. we're going to bump you down to the 1440 stamp. Your old 14-5 carries 13 through 17 pounds, which is a little too strong for a 12 pound sash. 1440 carries 12 through 13, which should be perfect.
- The 1090 stamp is going to be converted to our 1060 for similar reasons. This carries 14 through 17 pounds so should be perfect.
