I am looking for new window balances. The width is about one-half inch and the length is about 28 inches as shown in the pictures. Can you please recommend the proper balance.

Hello, Mike. We can supply this balance, but it will have to be a custom order due to its design. What you have here is a special "block and tackle" balance, named for its block and tackle configuration.
Before we go any further, can you first tell me what the stamp on the metal channel reads? It's currently obscured in your photos. Can you also tell me how many you wanted to buy? Finally, please verify the length of the metal channel. It should have a length that ends on a 7/8", like 27-7/8" or 28-7/8".

The length of just the metal channel, not including the plastic ends is 26 - 7/8.
I don't see any stamp anywhere on the metal channel.

Ok so I'm starting over because I am now understanding better this process.
I have a total of thirteen windows of which there are two sizes. All single hung and non- tilting. Length of 26-7/8 and width of 1/2 inch.
Size #1 of which there are 10 windows: smaller in size with balances with the numbers 26-5 stamped on the channel with a clip type of metal attachment on the end of the cord. (See photos)
Size#2 of which there are 3 windows: larger in size with the numbers 26-9 stamped on the channel; with a hook style metal attachment in the end of the cord. (See photos)
They all seem to have similar plastic end pieces.

Hello again! I'm afraid I've run into a bit of a road block with this 26-9 stamp balance. Before we can move forward with that, I need to give the manufacturer the weight of the sash that these balances will be supporting. Would that be information you can get for me? If so, please make sure that the weight is as precise as possible, down to the ounce. We can then get the ball rolling again.
