Not closing completely

Professional from Massachussets
The window doesn’t close completely because the last gear tooth is broken.
How do I replace this gear mechanism? Do I need to remove the window frame first? I can see about six screws, but I can’t access them because the frame is in the way. Does the frame come off, or do I need to cut that section and glue it back afterward? What is the correct way to replace it?

You don't necessarily need to remove the frame, just the trim covering the operator. We have a video guide on how this is done.

Regarding the operator itself, my best guess at this stage is the 39-031 and 39-032. Make sure to review all arm sizes before you place an order just to be sure they line up. You can reuse your old cover and handle.
