Bathroom single-hung window, about 6-8 years old. It appears that the coil on both sides has snapped. I am reluctant, as a first-time window repairer, to take the coils out until I know whether I can find replacement parts. Any help you can provide would be greatly appreciated.

Hello, Keith! We can absolutely supply you with the right parts. Your pivot shoe looks like a dead ringer for our 15-087, which means you very likely have our Series 180 coil spring. Look it over and let me know if you agree. All you need now is the stamp printed on the old springs to determine the best Series 180 option; that's an important step since it determines the strength calibration of the spring.
