NuPrime Windows

Quick Learner from New Jersey
My NuPrime windows are hard to open. While trying to get the spiral metal piece out of one side of one window, I broke the plastic piece at the bottom that the retention screw fastens to.

Can this be replaced? Are there instructions for replacing the part and for adjusting the springs?

I added two images. One is an overall view of the left side of the window. If you zoom in on the bottom of the spring you can see the broken piece. The other image is a close-up of the right hand side spring bottom. The retaining screw is visible.

Thank you. Looking at your images, I'd recommend our Series 600 spiral balance and our 15-048 pivot shoe. Carefully compare this hardware to your own and see if they're a match. Check out the video below for installation instructions.

Paul, thank you for the response. Is there a videon on replacing the pivot shoe? Can the existing spiral balances be used with the replacement pivot shoe? Do you recommend using the tool in the video?

Yes, see the video below.
You should be able to use the same balances, yes. The tool in the video, our 75-006, is the best choice.
