Hey there,

Thanks for posting! I would be happy to provide you with instructions on how to remove the balances but I'll need a bit more information about the window to determine the best way to do so. To start, is this a tilt window or a non-tilt window?

There is a chance that we can supply you with the replacement channel balances you need. However, to confirm the correct replacement balances, I'll need to see a photo of an undamaged balance removed from the window. Unfortunately, the stamp from the balance does not indicate the type of balance you need. It only tells us the weight range the balance should be able to carry to support the weight of your sash.

To properly identify them, I'll need to see a photo of any attachments that may be on the top or bottom of the balance.

If this is a tilt window, I'll need to see any attachments that could possibly be left behind in the window or that could possibly be attached to the bottom of the window. If there is a hook at the top of the balance, I'll need to see the space in the window channel where the hook connects.

Thanks for the photos! There should be a total of (2) balances in the window channel, on either side of the sash. It is likely that someone removed the balance that was previously installed there.

That said, your balances appear to be either the S380-30 with a 1" shoe or the S385-30 with 1-3/32" shoe. Given that there is likely to be missing balances, you may want to way your sash to confirm that it falls between 28 to 32lbs; if so, you'll need to select the 2950 stamp option.

To determine which of these is the correct series, you'll need to confirm the depth of your bottom shoe. Although, there is a chance it could measure 7/8"; if so, please let me know, as this will need to be a custom order.
