Nuair window balances broke

A home owner from Key West, Florida says:
My channel balances broke on 2 windows. They have become hard to slide and on both of hem the string broke. They are Nuair windows. The channel stamp is 28 4 BX CMC 11

The metal part is 29 inches long and 1/2 inch wide and the bottom piece seems to be 1 1/16 inch from window-to-frame. I hope this is the info you need to help me find replacements. Please let me know if you need to know anything else.

Thanks for posting! How about our S385-29 channel balance with a 2840 option? Does that look good to you? Let me know what you think.

That looks perfect! I'll order it online when I get home. You saved me a lot of anxiety with all the different options and wondering if I got the right one.

Do you have any links to articles telling how to maintain this kind of window? They are beginning to be hard to slide and I thought it was the track but maybe it's the balance dying?

Again, thanks for the help!

Not a problem! We were happy to help.

Being in Key West, you probably have to deal with high humidity that causes the steel springs to rust. This will bring on fatigue much sooner. If you want, you can remove the balances every so often and give them a quick spray of oil. I recommend you only spray oil on the springs, though. For the tracks, I recommend that you use silicone spray.
