Nuair window channel balance

Question

I have 4 Nuair windows where the window channels have failed. I have attached photos. The winows are single hung, the movable sash is apprx. 50" W X 31" T and using a bathroom scale they weigh about 24lbs. We bought the home new, and these 4 windows never worked smoothly, the balance springs always felt undersized, and one by one they have failed. We looked into replacement windows, but it is cost prohibitive.

I hope you can offer a part that can be easily installed to make these windows functional again. hopefully a channel balance that can handle the size and weight better than the original parts have done.

Thanks for posting, John. I recommend that you consider either our S385-30 or S380-30, depending on the size of your bottom shoe. Look them over and see what you think. As for the old balances not working properly, it may be because of the stamp. Your old 29 5 (our 2950) is meant for sashes weighing 28 through 32 pounds, which is too strong for a 24 pound sash. For that, I'd recommend our 2940 option (23 through 28 pounds). That may be better.
