Nuprime window replacement hardware

Home Owner from medford, MA
We have already recd your tension tool. We would like to order a set of spring balances, I think the series 600, 29 inches, red nub. Also two pivot shoes, the current ones measure 1 1/4 x 2 x 19/32(?). (Any advice on how to adjust the pivot bar setting so that the shoes are not damaged when the window is inserted?)

The balance tilt bars are installed extending out approximately 1/2" to 5/8" pass the window sash. Also look on the pivot bar itself. See if there is a line cut into the bar. That line signifies how far in the bar goes into the shoe.

When you reinstall the sash one of the pivot shoes should be lower than the other so that you can get it in, take a look at the following guide to see how this is done. You reverse this process.

I checked one of my pivot bars. There is a line about 6/16 or 7/16 inches from the end of the bar. I presume the bar is meant to extend beyond the window bottom edge to that line. I am a trained engineer. What is really confusing about this whole process is that somehow a tilt window whose end-to-end pivot bar measurement is longer than the distance between the two faces of the pivot shoes is supposed to go inside both shoes without damage to the pivot shoes and still engage both shoes to transmit the tension from the spiral balance. Am I missing something? On my old Nuprime pivot shoes at least there was a ledge projecting that helped seat the pivot bar.
