The operator shaft will turn to open the window but the shaft won't operate to close it..it actually lifts out if pulled...see pictures.
The entire mechanism works ok ...its just really old...

It looks like the worm gear stripped out. This can't be repaired or replaced, unfortunately; you'll need an all new operator. In your case, I recommend our 39-031 and 39-032. Carefully look over our dimensions to ensure everything matches, but let me know if they differ in any way. We have other products that are the same but in different sizes.
