Old Anderson doors

A quick learner from New York says:

Hello. We just bought a new home, and our old Anderson sliding doors could use some upgrading. All the plastic stripping in torn and on the outside of the doors the stripping is misshapen and could be replaced if possible. Also we need new door pulls and the door is hard to open. Do we need new wheels or could we oil them?

I was also wondering if there was something to whiten the plastic on the outside door.Thank you!

Hello,

It looks like you might need new weatherstripping. We may be able to supply a replacement but we would need to see a side profile photo of the seal, along with dimensions, to recommend a replacement.

We'd also need to see a photo of the original handle if you still have it and know the distance between the mounting holes to determine if we can replace the handle set for you.

As for the rollers, make sure that the track is clear of debris and you can also try lubricating the rollers. If the door is still hard to open, we'll need to see a photo of one of the rollers removed from the door to research a replacement for those as well.

Unfortunately, I am unaware of a product that you could use to whiten your door frame, though I would not be surprised if such a product is available.

A quick learner from New York says:
The measurement between the holes on the door handle is 5.5"
The dimensions of the weatherstripping is 82" and 106" wide.

Please let me know if you have any more questions, thank you.

Your pulls appear to be a match to our Andersen 88-013 and 88-014. As for the weatherstripping, we would need to see a piece of the seal removed and from a side profile angle, along with dimensions of the side profile in addition to the lengths you've provided.
