Old Simonton window side balance

Home Owner from Port Saint Lucie, FL

Hi, I need 2 brand new side window balance's for my 15 year old Simonton windows. I have included the window manufacture sticker that is on the upper right hand side of the window. I can not find any markings on my existing balance. I believe with the sticker you should be able to see or have what I need. If there is anything else you would need please e-mail me or call me. Thank-You very much. Robert

Hi there, and thank you for contacting SWISCO. We should be able to replace these channel balances for you; however we need to get some more information first.

Could you provide us with the length of the metal channel itself, not including the nylon tips at either end? Second, would it be possible to get the exact weight of your window sash? These two pieces of information will help us determine the right length and strength of the balance rod you need.

Finally, most likely you need a balance rod from either are S380 or S385 Series of channel balances. This is determined by the 'depth' of the bottom nylon piece. Unfortunately, it looks like in your photo that this bottom piece is damaged. I recommend getting an undamaged version of your balance rod, and then comparing the bottom shoe with the two balances that I suggested above. Thanks.

I know the length of the channel is 30". the weight I do not know, but I can weigh it when I take out the window to check the depth of the nylon piece.Once I get it out I will ck. it with your s380 or s385 series. the picture of those 2 series are on your site correct ? thank-you very much.

Correct, those pictures are on the product page for each Series. Sounds good, let us know if you have any questions!

You know, in my experience, Simonton/Norandex windows use Series 380-30". The spring weight will be the four digit number stamped on the metal channel. We pulled up media guides alongside this post to further help you.
