Old balances

Question

The balances are from old (1960's) "bilt welll" double hung windows. The balances have "curadco" stamped on them. They measure 8" long x 3 1/8th wide x 7/8ths thick.. do you have something that might work to replace? Let me know, and thanks for the help. Jim

You have a discontinued Caradco box balance, which is similar to the Andersen box balance used on Narroline windows. Despite that, I don't think you can use the Andersen balance as a replacement. You might do better going to a millwork and getting jamb liners for your sashes, if the sashes are still good. You'll need to bring the old jambliner and two sashes with you.
