Open or closed cam

A quick learner from Dallas, TX says:
I gave a tilt window that uses the 15-195 or 15-195B. I'm not sure which one to order. What is the functional difference between an open or closed cam? Thank you.

Tom from SWISCO responded:

Hello! The major difference between the two is that the 15-195B has a hole straight through the cam to the other side, to allow more space. The rule of thumb is to just stick with what you have. If your old cam has a hole through it, go with the 15-195B. If it's solid on the back, stick with the 15-195.
