Operator alteration

A quick learner from Lake Harmony says:
I purchased an awning 39-390. If I were to install the universal kit I can see that the window will not be able to close all the way. The actual inside of the jamb measures 29 1/2". The operator in its opened position is the same exact size as original from the 1950s. Is there any way possible I can just order stud with locking groove so I can use existing track from the 1950s. I can knock out the studs on new operators & install new locking studs. That would solve my problem.

I'm not sure what type of stud you need. However take a look at the 36-030 or 36-083 shoes. Are these the type of shoes you have on your window? When you say your window will not close all the way, what would be the problem preventing it from closing?
