What Lockset Do I Need?

A home owner from Knoxville, TN says:

Hello,

I received the 40-198 mortise latch set I ordered but realize now that it isn't an exact match in that the one it is replacing has an oval-shaped, keyed lock below the handle. I don't necessarily need a lock but without it, I have a visible oval hole on each side of my door.

Can you tell me what if you sell either:

a. A latch set with the oval opening for the aforementioned lock

-or-

b. An inside and outside plate to go with the 40-198; if so what is that part number? Here's a pic of what I'm trying to replace. I received the 40-198 but now plates don't match.

Thanks!

Bill

Dave Sr. from SWISCO responded:

Hey Bill. Judging from the shape of your "key cylinder", it looks like you need the 40-049 Complete Lockset instead. I am afraid we do not sell the mortise lock by itself from this lockset. Take a look and see what you think.

If you need to return the 40-198, see our Return Policy here.
