I just installed new balances (S600 32 inches black tip) and when I lift my sash all the way to the top it drifts about 4 inches... but when I lift just half the way or less it works fine. What could be wrong?

Hello,
Thanks for reaching out! The black tip option can support a sash weighing 31 to 40lbs, so this should be the correct replacement for your window.
When installing the balances, did you add tension to by turning the inner spiral counterclockwise? If not, I believe this may help to correct the issue you are having, it should be clockwise. You'll need the 75-006 charging tool.
Take a look at the video tutorial below for reference.

Hello Jasmine,
I have the tensioning tool but I was letting the inner spiral fall free a few inches instead of pulling it with the tool. When it falls freely it rotates counterclockwise. I followed the steps on the video tutorial and now it works fine. Thank you!
