I"m trying to replace my PADO storm door handle and it looks like the mortise 40-049 is the one to go with. My current lock set is a PADO LATAO although I?m not sure if that?s the model or not. I guess my question is how do I know what model I have then what model will replace it? Any information will be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I agree, I think our 40-049 is our best option. I've had customer successfully use this to replace the old PADO handle in the past. However, I've had a few customers who weren't able to get it to work at all. Now, whether this was because they just gave up too early or if it was because their doors were a peculiar model, I can't say for sure. What I can tell you is that our 40-049 is the best match available.
