PADO storm door handles

Question

The handles on my very old PADO storm door came apart. I can push them back together but they loosen up. The plastic "sockets" that appear to secure them in place don't seem to be holding them in tight. Is there something to replace them, or do I need to replace everything. What do you recommend

measurement between the installation holes- 6 5/8"
