PGT Window channel replacement

Home Owner from Hallandale

Hi! I do know that my window is a PGT. That is about all I know though. The photos show the channel still attached ( I don't know how to take it off ) and the cover. Also, the plastic piece needs replacing that keeps it in place. Any suggestions? Thank you!

This looks like a spiral balance to me, but I will need to see the balance removed from the window to be sure. After you remove it, I will need to see photos of the bottom portion of the spiral.

Lastly, you mention a top sash guide. Is this a non tilt window? Can you remove the top sash guide and send photos of that as well? Thanks!

Hello! Thank you for the response and video. The only problem is that the video shows a different window and channel then mine. It looks as though I need something to pull the part from the bottom. Thanks so much!

Sorry about the confusion! That video was posted erroneously. We have a video on how to remove a tilt window spiral balance, but not on how to remove a non-tilt window spiral balance. Were you able to confirm what you have?

Assuming you have a non-tilt window spiral balance, then you'll have to work the balance out without removing the sash. Disconnect it from the bottom of the sash, unscrew it at the top, and then carefully pull the balance up and out of the sash.

The top sash guide may be harder to remove, assuming that's what I'm looking at. Let's see the balance out of the window first and then work from there.
