PGT windows

A quick learner from DeLeon Springs Fl says:
My 12 year old windows are failing. It appears that the white plastic tabs in the corner are sun rotting and allowing the balance to jump up past the window frame. The balances appear to still load up properly but won't stay in place.

Hi there. Looks like you need new Top Sash Guides. These are the parts that hold the channel balances in place during sash operation. As you guessed, sun exposure and age can wear them down over time, and once they break the channel balances shoot past the window sash. We can replace these for you, although I can't say for certain what top sash guides you need without seeing an undamaged version. Normally we ask to see the top sash guide removed from the window, with mugshot pictures taken from the front and side. However, our 18-015 PGT Top Sash Guide might be what you're looking for, based on brand alone. Take a look, compare it with your old parts, and see what you think.
