PIVOT PIN WITH WINGS AND HOUSING Product Code: 26-426

A handy person from Atlanta, GA says:
Hi, i believe i have this same type of Pivot Pin and need to order quite a few but i noticed some windows seem as if the pins are not able to reach the shoe. Its almost as if the window frames some how got further away making the pivot bar and shoe not able to be inserted if that makes sense.

Have you see that type of issue or is there such a thing to get a pin extender or buy a pivot bar shoe that extends out further to house the pivot bar pin?

this is for the back upper window for a double hung setup.

All help is greatly appreciated!

Hmm... there could be two reasons you're running into this problem. One is that the 26-426 was not installed properly, where the wings are put into the proper groove on the sides of the main frame of the window. The other problem could be that the main frame of the window bowed out in the middle of the frame. If that were the case, you would need to shim the center of the frame to square/plumb up the sides.
