PN 84-225 Replacement Latch/Handle

Question

My wife purchase the 84-225 Pella Retractable Patio Screen Door Handle on 12/16 and we received it on 12/26. Our sliding glass door is the Pella Designer Series installed in 2007. Although your website says the replacement is supposed to work I found the spring stem on the latch to be too short to work properly in our screen. I could not find the piece of the original that broke off from the latch. The back wall where the stem is supposed to contact is approximately 1/2" farther inset than the stem on the latch can contact. Do you have any ideas as to remedy this?
The rest of the parts are superior to the Pella plastic originals.

Hmm....I am not sure why our 82-225 screen door handle is not working properly on your door. It is in fact made to fit to the Designer series patio door. I would recommend checking to see if you need to adjust the patio door or keeper. Another suggestion would be to pack out the keeper on the jamb. Perhaps that can make up the difference.
