Part 2573558 (Sliding Door Lock)

Question

I received the replacement lock and it fit perfectly.  The only challenge is my old lock has this slot toward the bottom.  What is this?  The door plate has a prong that hits this opening in the old door lock. How can I address this issue?

Is this for an Andersen door? If so, It's possible that you may have been looking for our 82-037 deadlock assembly. Take a look and see if this may be a match to your original hardware. Thank you!
