Part to hold up a double hung window made by out of business Gorell window company in 2011

Home Owner from Home, PA
I contacted Soft Lite windows who purchased the assets of Gorell but too much time has passed and they no longer have the parts for these windows. They thought this part was a balancer. Can you help?

Thanks for reaching out to us! We may be able to assist with this repair. I'm afraid this photo doesn't help us identify what you have though. Can you show us a photo of the pivot shoe removed from the window? The related video will show you how to remove your hardware using the cut out method.

I'm sorry. I am unable to cut it out. It has a number on it, 5353548. None of the photos you have are the correct one. This one is enclosed and has a flat spring that attaches to the clip (shown in the picture attached to this thread.) Please advise.

This number has been associated with the 15-087 pivot shoe in the past. The springs this part uses are the Series 180. However, this is by no means a guarantee. You will ultimately have to remove the old pivot shoe to confirm. To determine the spring weight, check the band of an old spring for a stamped weight code.

Thank you so much Emily! I understand there is no guarantee these are the parts I need but I am going to give it a go. Is it possible there is no stamped weight on the original coil? I do not see one?

No problem, I'm happy to help.

Yes, that is possible. The stamp may have also just faded from the spring. In cases like this, you'll have to weigh the window sash and divide the weight by the total number of springs. If you're still unsure, get back to me with the exact sash weight and I can calculate what you need from there.
