When you try and turn to lock or unlock, the hook in the lock set mechanism won't extend out or retract properly.
The handle was already taken off the door before I took a picture of it installed.

Hello! Sounds like you need a new mortise lock. Yours appears to match our 82-227, but look it over and let me know if you had any follow up questions. We're always here to help.
