Patio Storm Door Latch

Question

I am looking for a solution to this broken latch on a Patio Storm Door.  The lock is no longer manufactured, I need a suitable replacement.  My management company said to use a wood dowel as a solution.  I would rather have a proper lock on it.

Thanks for posting. We may be able to proffer a different solution for you, but I need more information. It's not entirely clear to me what the part in your photo does or it interfaces with. Can you show me all the hardware that works with this latch, e.g. the lock, any handle, etc. Can you also show me an undamaged version, if possible? We'll do our best to narrow down some options for you from there.
