Question

Confused. The latch turns but does not lock the door. Do you change the handle, the inside latch or the hook that it locks into.

Hello,

I'd recommend removing the internal handle thumb latch and if it is damaged, you should be able to use the 82-107 to replace it.

If it looks intact, you can use a slotted screwdriver to manually turn the slot that the thumb latch normally operates to determine if the mortise lock hook engages as it should. If it doesn't, take a look and compare the 82-226 to your assembly. Thank you!
