This is the part that goes on the frame that the sliding glass door locks into.

I'm sorry to say that I don't recognize this component. It looks like it broke off of something larger, but in its current condition I'm afraid it's too damaged to accurately ID.

Can you kindly show me a photo of the spot on the door where it installs? You also mentioned a lock that interacts with this. Can you show me that, as well?

Ok this is including another piece of the latch and both sides where it attaches to the wall and the door side as well. Hope that helps!

Thanks! This gives me a much better idea of what this is. It appears to be a kind of patio door keeper. I still can't tell what type you have due to its condition, but I am strongly reminded of the 89-005 and 89-014, just for two possibilities. There are many others, which you can see here.
