Patio door foot lock

A home owner from Connecticut says:
I'm told this comes off of a silverline patio door. Their warrantee department tells me that they no longer offer this part and referred me to your website. The only numbers I could find are on a sticker that was on the inside of the top door frame. A picture of the sticker is attached along with pictures of both sides of the lock. I want to get the same lock. I've seen pictures of supposedly compatible foot locks but they require drilling more holes in the door. I want to avoid drilling more holes to replace the lock. Thank you.

It looks like you have an old style Silverline patio door foot lock which is unfortunately no longer available. We did sell it at one time, but after it was discontinued our stock ran out. I'm not sure where you could still get it these days.

I do remember that it was a good lock that didn't interfere with the operation of the door. We do have the "face" type foot locks like the 82-040 and the 82-051. They take a keeper that would need to be installed out side of the track along the edge. Would that be possible on your door?

If you want extra security, I would suggest looking at the 80-006 sliding door bar. I have used this in the past and find it works well. It actually works just as good or better than a mop handle or a 2x4 placed in the track behind the sliding door.

thank you.

I am going to purchase a decorative metal door stop instead of lock.
