Patio door locked in closed position

Something broke inside what I believe is a 82-238. The door is closed an I am unable to access the face plate to remove it. Any thoughts on how to unlock?

Try using a flat blade screw driver in the hole and see if you can force the lock open. This could work, but I'm not sure. It would depend on exactly what the issue is inside the mortise lock. You might need to hire a locksmith to unlock the door.

If your door would normally lock with the lever up, you could try putting the lever in the unlocked position and lift the broken hook up over the strike. If your lever locks down, you are probably out of luck for a simple solution.
