I'm the president of an HOA for a condo building in Raleigh, and I have a crap ton of these window balances that are bad. They are similar but the top and bottom are slightly different sizes - pictures attached. Shorter balance is numbered E30E and longer one is numbered E34D. If you can help me out with these I'll try a couple to start, and then order a "crap ton," once I verify they work. Let me know what you can do.
Pella Balance replacements
Hello,
We do not carry these balances but I'm going to have our inventory manager take a look and see if we can supply them. I can't make any guarantees but we'll reach out as soon as more information is available. Thank you!
We are still looking into this for you, but our suppliers are requesting a bit more information. Do you happen to know what type of window they came from? They may be clad exterior/wood interior. If so, we would need to know the size of the window to quote for replacement balances. The visible glass of one of the sashes (as long as they are vent equal), the window series, as well as vintage.

Thanks for getting back to us. We heard back from Pella regarding the cost for these replacement balances, which, unfortunately, would be over $1000 per window.
We suggest you reach out to Pella to see if there is any kind of warranty for your original hardware or if they can give you a better price than we were quoted. If they give you a similar price, let us know, and our senior experts will be happy to research alternate solutions.
I'd recommend holding onto all of the original balance hardware in the meantime. Good luck, and please let us know how you make out with Pella!
Good news! Our inventor manager was able to locate a possible replacement for the pivot shoe shown in your photos, which would be compatible with our S770 channel balances. We'll let you know as soon as they are available to view on our website.
We've added the new shoe to our website under product code 15-281 shown below. It should be available for purchase in the next few weeks.
No problem. Just let us know if you have any other questions.
Good news! The 15-281 is now available for purchase. Just let us know if you need anything else.
The good news is that we can supply the S770 balances with a rivet at the top for the 19-030 s-clip but it will need to be a custom order. I tried to have the order cancelled for you but it has already shipped. If you'd like, you can send back the order following our return policy here and place a new order with the custom links we just sent over. Note that the 15-281 pivot shoes will need to be added to your order directly from our website. Just let us know if you need anything else.
We also offer the 62-005 rivet and 75-075 riveting tool if you'd prefer to install them at the top of the stock balances you purchased.
Once you're ready to place a larger order for custom balances, just let us know to lengths, stamps and quantities needed and we'll be happy to send over updated order links.
We'd be happy to send over new order links but I'm a bit confused since you're saying that you want the 34" 34D stamped balances the be 1" longer at 25", but the 30" long 30E stamped balances to be 1" shorter at 29"? I also don't see that you purchased the custom balances we originally sent you links for, which may be why you're having trouble installing standard S770 balances.
If you're concerned that the slight difference in the size of the shoe may be the problem, you may want to try using a different-sized s-clip to make up for the difference. We offer the 19-029 short and 19-020 long S-clips. Review the measurements below to see if switching the clips might be an easier fix than using entirely different balances. If you ultimately determine that you need new order links for custom S770 balances with a rivet at the top to attach s-clips, please write out the exact length of your original balance channels to help ensure that we can supply the correct replacements.
We just sent over your order links and price quotes for review. Keep in mind that the pivot shoes and s-clips will need to be added to your order directly from our website since they are stock items. Take a look and let us know if you need anything else.
