Pella Casement Window Parts

Home Owner from Bingham Farms, Michigan (Near Detroit)

The Pella windows were installed in our new home in 1986. A right side split arm casement operator has broken. The space between the holes in the window is 5 inches. I am looking for a part number or the part so I can have the window repaired. I think the length of that arms that attached to the window is 6 5/16 inches.

I am hoping I can at least get a part number.

Thanks in advance. The picture is of the opposite side of the same window.

Hello, Maggie. I believe we can help, yes. Your operator looks just like our 39-176 at first glance. I feel confident that this will replace the original, but look it over and see what you think.

If I order this part number and it isn't the right one will I be able to return it?

Is 39-176 a right or left sash opener.
As you look from the outside of the house it is a right casement window

"Left" and "right' hand orientation is defined differently depending on who you talk to. Every window maker, supplier, contractor, and customer has a different idea of what left means compared to right. There is unfortunately no industry standard.

Therefore, I suggest you throw those terms out entirely, since it will only lead you to more confusion. Instead, focus on the details of the operator itself. What side is the handle spline on? What direction does the arm face? Things like that. This is a much easier and less conflicted marker for determining the best replacement.
