Pella Sliding Glass Door Handle

A home owner from Green valley, Az says:
I have a slider I just bought from a handyman (?) the price tag on it was close to 3K. The doors are 2 1/2" thick, the outline of the handle that was there is end to end 9 1/2", two holes on top, and two on bottom of handle. The mechanism operates with two (pincers, or hooks) that come together to lock it to the frame. What pella handle will operate such a door? It is a slider and a 9` patio door.

Tom from SWISCO responded:

Could you show me a picture of the holes where the old handle installed? Can you also show me the mortise lock that you mentioned, which has those pincer hooks? That will help us determine if we'll be able to replace this.

If this is a genuine Pella brand door, then we may not be able to help. Pella produced a fairly expensive glass door handle for some time but it was recently discontinued. But let's cross that bridge when we get there, I'd like to see what you have first.
