Pella Window Parts

Home Owner from Virginia

These parts are damaged or missing. It is a Pella window.

One pin is missing that fits into the slider that holds the window up.

The 2nd image is the pin on the other side. The 1st image is where the pin should be.

The 3rd image is the slot where the pin fits into. Notice that the slot is damaged. I can move one half of the slot and the other half does not move. The 4th image is a picture of the other side where the slot is not damaged. On the good side, the surfaces of the slot are parallel to each other.

I cannot see how to remove and replace the damaged slot and the plastic holder. It is too wide to come out of the vinyl window channel.

Hello! Looks like you need a new pivot bar a pivot shoe. My recommendation would be our 26-021 and 15-195, respectively. Just make sure to review our dimensions in each instance to verify that they all line up.

As for removing the pivot shoe, it's a lot simpler than it seems. It does require removal of the entire balance. The first step is to turn the cam (as best as you can in its damaged condition) to unlock it. You should then gently guide the balance up in the track so that the cord retracts fully. Note that these are under a lot of tension, so the balance will try to shoot up in the track as soon as it's unlocked. Make sure you have a firm grip on it. I recommend using a screwdriver to turn the cam and hold the balance in place so that you can gently ease it up.

Once the balance cord is fully retracted, unscrew or unhook the top clip at the top of the assembly and then tilt the entire channel in. You want it to flip down almost 90 degrees. Once it's as close to 90 degrees as you can get, twist it so that the "ears" of the pivot shoe have the clearance to be removed from the track.

Hopefully that helps. Please feel free to reach out with any questions you may have.
