Could not remove from frame.
Pella 7281 sliding french door installed in 2004

Hello,

Unfortunately, we can't recommend a replacement for your roller with it still installed in the door but I can tell you that another customer has posted photos of their Pella roller and referenced the same 7281 Pella part number. Take a look at their post here and see if the specifications of the 81-244 that our senior expert recommended could work for you as well. Thank you!

yes,it certainly looks like it.The roller unit appears to be unsecured in that it just can be pulled out?

I will order two

As long as there are no screws holding it in place, the roller appears to be pressure fit into the frame. You could try using a putty knife or similar tool to remove it.
