is the 1 inch long Pella screen strike shown in the picture the same as 70-225?

Your hardware does resemble our 70-225, but you'll need to compare our dimensions to your screen strike to ensure everything matches up. If the dimensions do match up, you should be good to go.

so we have these on our windows and assume that they are clip holders to keep our screens down but have no such clip to insert into this. do you know what the other piece is that works with this part?

These strikes are usually used in combination with a knife latch. We sell two Pella brand knife latches: the 70-216 and the 70-218. However, these aren't the only Pella latches ever made, and I'm not sure what you might have. You would need to use one of the originals as a reference for identification. Do you have any still remaining?
