I've been mulling over the removal of the bottom window wood cover to access removal and replacement of the new crank. I realized that I will have to cut both ends of bottom wood cover.......but wondered if you might have a suggested routine some other lucky soul came up with?

Hey, Bill! We're happy you got it so fast. As for removing the sill cover, I think I can help.
First, make sure the sash lock handle is completely disengaged. Turn the crank slightly and apply slight pressure to the sash near the lock assembly. The sash should snap open. Open the window all the way and remove the arm bracket from the operating sash by unscrewing it.
Next, remove the wood trim sill cover carefully. Just be careful not to damage it when prying it up. I've related to a video to this page that shows how we do this; it's not the same operator, but the removal of the sill trim is more or less the same concept.
With the sill cover off, the operator should be exposed. Remove the remaining screws and lift the operator out. Simply reverse this process to install the new operator.
