Do I need to remove the bottom of the window trim to remove/replace this

Hello,
It looks like your pivot bar is held in place by the screw on the inner corner of the sash shown in your photo. I would recommend placing the sash flat on a stable surface before removing it in case the sash frame is also held together by the screw.
