Pivot Pin

Many thanks for writing in. May we see the pivot shoe the pivot bar fits into? Also, can you confirm that the width of the pivot pin is 15/16"?

Hello! This is a huge help, yes. Thank you. I think I know what we're dealing with here. I've seen it a few times in the past, but we've never been able to track down an exact match.

I do have some thoughts, though. Let me walk you through my logic.

The closest we have is our 26-446. This looks almost exactly the same except for the style of the front pin; ours has a round "collar" while yours is a flat "T". That means our pivot bar won't fit into that pivot shoe cam. It also looks like the installation hole is further back, but it's hard to say for sure. Ours is 1-5/16" from the tip, measuring from the center of the hole. Is that the same as yours?

Let's assume for the moment that it is. Now, we do have pivot shoes that are compatible with the 26-446, but they won't be able to connect to your balance, which looks like it clips to the shoe with a hook. I was hoping that maybe we could find a pivot shoe that will fit both of those qualifications but it appears that won't be possible, so let's throw that idea out.

The next idea I have is a little less reliable, but may be your best bet. You could theoretically grind the 26-446's collar down until it's flat. Then it would, hopefully, fit in the original pivot shoe cam the same way as your original shoe did. Would that be possible?

Let me know what you think. Also keep in mind that your pivot bar's hole placement is still in question. You may also have to drill a hole in ours so that it fits the same way.
