Pivot Shoe Replacement

Question

Hi. I need to replace the Pivot Shoes on my aluminum windows. There are no cut-outs in the channels so I don't know how to do this. I do not think that the channel can be spread (even if I had those expensive-looking tools) so, what to do? The channels need to be cleaned but the shoes are shot, no matter if the channels are de-stickied. I suppose it could make cut-outs with my Dremel but I'm hoping there's another way. I have four of these windows, about 6' x 30".

Hello! If there is no cutout in the track to remove this shoe, then you will need to make one. There is no other way, unfortunately. We do have a guide on how this can be done that will hopefully be of some help to you. I will share that below.

As for a replacement option, that would depend entirely on size. Once the shoe is removed, please measure its width and thickness and let me know what you get. It's not possible to measure it accurately until its removed so that will have to be done first. I can then check our inventory for a match.
