Pivot Shoe Replacement
Thank you!
Hello! If there is no cutout in the track to remove this shoe, then you will need to make one. There is no other way, unfortunately. We do have a guide on how this can be done that will hopefully be of some help to you. I will share that below.
As for a replacement option, that would depend entirely on size. Once the shoe is removed, please measure its width and thickness and let me know what you get. It's not possible to measure it accurately until its removed so that will have to be done first. I can then check our inventory for a match.
The same principles apply to an aluminum window, you just might need to use different tools. I personally use metal snips and find that they work perfectly well.
At the end of the day, if you're having trouble cutting through the track on your window, you may want to contact a local professional to do it for you.
That works too!
Please let me know if you had any other questions and I'd be happy to assist.
Thank you! This is a huge help. Our 15-047 is 5/8" thick and 1-1/4" wide. The design is a little different, but that's only because yours is an older design. Our more modern style is still compatible with all the same hardware. The only concern here is size, so look ours over and see what you think!
