I'm not familiar with Acorn Series 600, but most tilt window pivot shoe removal are very similar. If it is the bottom sash, remove the window sash and then remove the window stops at the top of the window track. Unhook the tilt balance from the tilt shoe, then unscrew the balance and remove from the track. Hopefully the manufacturer made a cut out where the window stop was, if not, you will need to make a small cut-out, just enough to remove pivot shoe. To loosen the pivot shoe so it will slide, stick a flat screw driver into where the tilt bar fits in to. Turn the screw driver towards you and that will release the shoe. To install the new shoe, slide into the cut out at the top of the window track and again with the screw driver turn it away to lock it in place at original spot. Screw the balance at the top, then with our charging tool (75-006) turn the spiral about three to four turns to put tension on the balance. Reinstall sash and window stops. For top sash, you will need to remove the bottom stops and make the cut-out at the bottom of the track.
