Pivot bar broke

A home owner from Ulster County, NY says:
the pivot bar on my tilting window broke off inside. How do I remove the broken piece so I can replace with a new bar. I removed the screw, but cannot get remaining piece of the bar to come up far enough to pull out.Any help would be appreciated.

Tom from SWISCO responded:

After you remove the screw, the rest of the pivot bar should just come out. If not, you can try pushing it into the window. The track where a pivot bar installs is hollow from one end of the sash to the other, so there's plenty of room. You can just push it deeper with the new pivot bar.
